Used this news story in a recent lecture to show someone in the Real Estate industry that was able to use a site like Youtube to promote their listing.

How’s things Shaken pops?

So the last 30min of work yesterday I’m packing up my presentation making stuff. (Help’d a Realtor make a rad presentation yesterday, took most of my afternoon). I’m checking my LiveBookmarks and on MSN I see this headline, “Strong quake shakes Southern California”. Now I know what you’re thinking. “It’s Southern LA, that isn’t news” Well my parents live there so, needless to say I opened the story. Now you see where it says “Quake EpicCenter”? You couldn’t get a more perfect pushpin on my parents house. So I called up my Moms. She said it was the worst one she’s been in but it was nothing scary like building falling down. She was eating lunch with a friend at the time. She told me my old man was on his way to the house to make sure everything was ok. So I call my father and, i’ll paraphrase here, the call goes like this, “I opened the garage saw the motorcycle was ok, closed the garage and went back to work.” LULZ. That’s my pops for ya. Said nothing major happened. His bike was fine, straightened some photos, pool wasn’t cracked, and he may have to start to velcro his Pepsi upright in the fridge. “They lose alot of carbonation while shaken around like that, man”.

Flyclops

So on my lunch I was drifting through the 4chan archives on my iPhone and ran across one of the best nerdscience discussions I’ve ever come across. They call him “Flyclops” basicly it was a big discussion on how to make Cyclops from X-men fly using his eye lazurs. I lost count on how many times I laughed out loud. And only wish Becky and Rud were around to enjoy in this with me, but alas they are in the Land of Ice.
